What a contest! Wow. So many new people on vhf, it was almost shocking. Alisha came along and operated on Saturday. N0LP/R and I continued on Sunday out to the eastern grid congruences. The weather was perfect. Cold and windy, but clear and dry. The only band I had issues with was 10G. All the rest performed great. Thanks to AC0GI for loaning us a 1.2G HT! Alisha had a blast and got to talk to many new friends. She is ready to go again! I'm pretty sure that W0EEA,KR0VER and N0LP will all have placed and/or set division/section records.

The pathfinder was involved in a fender bender on I-225 last week. I've patched it back up, but the event was a bit scarry. I don't expect it will curb conesting activity, but it did take a bite out of prep I was planning on doing this past weekend. The batteries are all on chargers at this point and I'm cleaning out the car and arranging all the gear in the garage for easy loadout.

The rover gather was a blast. Joe, Lou, Nick and I chatted about roving till we we were tired and I think we've got some good planning in place for the January Contest.

Plans firming up. A rover gather is on the calendar for January 5th @5:30pm at the lonetree hacienda. Several of the Colorado Rovers will meet to firm up roving plans for January. If we all end up roving, it will be the largest number of rovers in the Metro in at least 5 years.

Planning begins. To rover or not to rove? That is the question. Now that I have the rover built up 4x4 vehicle that doesn't involve borrowing from the kidwaggon, it may be possible to rove in January. Much will depend on the weather and I doubt it will be a two day trip. Still some very low hanging fruit is avaliable in the certificate field for January scores. It may be possible to score a cert without a huge effort. I'm going to see if we can collect a few rovers to get active and drum up some extra activity.
