Great Contest! Huge 6m openings both days. Added new bands to the rover without major issues. Thanks to w0eea for the loan! Used three new directive systems looper antennas and all worked great. Lots of activity due to the six meter openings. It felt like we had more people active in the metro area than ever before. 223.500 continues to be the best $300 band, I found two new people who were not aware there was a contest via 223.5fm, who then were pretty active in the contest. Drove the 1st day with my father who enjoyed seeing the country but didn't want to play on the radios. Thanks for driving so far Dad! The next day my brother joined my father and I and helped me find six meter contacts to work. He wasn't into keying up but he could pick the DX out very well. Hope to get him a ticket and get him into contesting soon. The weather couldn't have been better in east county. When I returned to the metro area I heard reports of heat and muggy weather. All we had was sun and nice breezes. We pretty much ran the planned route for the 1st day, but only made it to Cheyenne and back to Fort Collins on the 2nd day. Pictures posted below.
